Welcome to the H+H Peer Academy application! The H+H Peer Academy is a training program designed to prepare individuals to be eligible to work as peer counselors in a large hospital system.

- Be over 18 years of age
- Commit to three months of in-person, unpaid training and internship
- Complete self-directed online courses while actively participating in our weekly virtual trainings
- Want the opportunity to work as a peer counselor in a public health system upon graduation from the program
- Be eligible to work/intern in a hospital setting.
- Visit the NY State Justice Center website to learn about potential disqualifications.

- Have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED/TASC (you will need this physical document if accepted to the onboarding process)
In order to complete this application you will need:
- Basic personal information including an email address that you check regularly
- A one-page resume of professional, volunteer, and educational experiences
- Two brief letters of reference from people who can speak about your accomplishments-We will not accept names and contact Information.
- To answer these short essay questions: What does peer support mean to you? Tell us about any experience you may have with peers. Why do you want to work as a peer counselor? Why do you want to enroll in the Peer Academy? What are your long-term goals?
The information that you provide in this application is not protected by confidentiality rules. The information you provide will be used by NYC Health + Hospitals in the application review process.
